The professor for ethics and theory of medicine at the University of Cologne, European policy consultant and Chair of the European Group on Ethics in Science and New Technologies talks about the weaknesses of the society’s system that became more obvious during the last months of the pandemic.Especially leaders are in the position to look at the people who are most affected by the crisis and to take care of all matters of their well-being. She points out that the young generation can make a difference in adapting easily to the ‘new normal’.
“A wealth of ideas, fearlessness, perseverance, hope, flexibility, the ability to question what seems to be evident” are qualities of a responsible leader, according to Prof. Dr. Woopen.
